Pushing through it

So I started my lean phase of the p90x and it has me working out 6days a week. I started yesterday with core synergistic. That was the reason behind my title. I really was excited about working out but was feeling lazy. I knew I would feel better after though. Needless to say it was a rough start. I didn't push myself as much as I wanted to. However I made it through.. yea!!!!!
So today was cardio, which happens to be my favorite. I love it so I was really looking forward to it. I just finished it and worked very hard. Had sweat pouring all over..had my post work out snack of peanut butter on whole wheat. 1slice and water mixed with OJ. So stay focused, stay determined stay motivated. We're worth it.

To have or have not a mirror....

I am back on track with my exercise. I am at Cha's house and she has thi awesome mirror that runs along the living room. I have been doing p90x routine for about 6 weeks and I assumed my posture was correct. I worked out ro max capacity today. I wanted to puke. Because I was looking at myself in the mirror and I was able to see my form and when i saw that my form was bad or that I was slacking I told myself to kick it up. I felt fatigued but glad I worked out. I really do enjoy it. Plus I can have some carbs now.... till tomorrow

Great weekend!! Great food!!! Not so great on working out..

I had a great weekend..Saturday morning my nephew had a basketball game. I was excited to see him. Not excited about it being at 9:15 on a Sat morning. It was a great game. My nephew scored the first 6 points. Yeah!! so proud. Ending score was 28-2 my nephews team won. After that we went to my family reunion in Queens. That was cool. Met some nice people. Laughed, ate some great food. Then after that we went to a birthday party for a family friend. More great food and drinking. These are the times that are hard for me to stay on my healthy eating track. I however no longer beat myself up about it. I just say that I will do an extra workout or that Ill eat even better for the next week. It allows me to eat guilt free and not feel bad about enjoying myself. I work hard and I just keep reminding myself that its a journey and that it will have its highs and lows and if I am focused I can achieve my goals. I am going to be trying the lean routine with the p90x. I see it has me working out 6 days a week. I'm looking forward to seeing the pounds melt away. I already see it happening. Till next time.

My journey begins

I have become an android/amazon phone app junkie. I have a Droid Incredible and wasn't sure how it was going to work out at first. Now I love it. I use cardio trainer to track my workouts. I have a heart rate monitor and food diary all on my phone. I'm a full time college student and I work pt so money is low. Having these options on my phone really helps. I started working out June 5th 2011 according to my cardio trainer app. I have a selective memory so using this helps. My sister encouraged me to use my mini stepper while I was watching tv. I put it in the living room as a reminder that I needed to do it. Initially I was resistant or lazy and it just sat there. Finally I decided to get my tush up and moving. I noticed way to many dimples in my bunz and legs. I am determined to finally wear a bikini this summer. Something I haven't done since I was 4. That's a long time. I set this goal because I felt that being seen in public in something similar to my underwear would be a great accomplishment. I love myself how I am but know I am capable of so much more. So I got on the stepper the first time I did 150 steps and it made my heart beat faster. That took approx 4 mins. I said that I would add 10 more steps each week. The following day I got on the stepper. I did 200. I was pumped. I told my sister. I was so proud of myself. My sister told me about her routine that she was doing on the elliptical. From that moment on the fire within exploded. My daily step routine was up to 300. I was super excited. I wanted more. I actually like to work out and did it for a long time. I love love kick boxing and decided to go on you tube to try to find some videos to do at home. Not a fan of the gym. I was struggling finding anything over 9 or 10 mins. I found one that was great. The people were breathing hard like me so I felt like this was cool. I later found bodyrock.tv.com and love them. THeir workouts are killer. I am on a p90x kick right now. So for the last 5 weeks thats what I have been doing p90x and bodyrock.tv. I eat right. Small meals 5-6 times a day. Lots of fruits and veggies.I love to cook and experiment so I'm excited and super motivated and will update my progress.
